Treatment Record
The canvas presented severe cleavage and active flaking across the upper third. A Japanese tissue facing was applied to stabilise the paint layer. Aged varnish was removed. Losses were filled with Modostuc and inpainted in watercolour followed by Gamblin Conservation Colours under a final varnish.
