Our Approach
At I'Arte Rinasce, we approach the shipping of art with the same methodical care we bring to its treatment. Every shipment is planned individually, packed to museum specification, fully insured, and documented at every stage. We work exclusively with fine art freight specialists who understand the particular demands of transporting works of cultural and financial significance.
"The journey of a work of art is as important as its destination. We treat every transit as an extension of the conservation process."
What We Offer
Every work is packed to museum specification. We design and construct bespoke timber crates with internal foam cradles, acid-free tissue interleaving, and climate-buffering materials tailored to the specific dimensions, medium, and fragility of each piece.
All works shipped through I'Arte Rinasce are covered under a comprehensive fine art transit policy. We work with specialist art insurers to ensure full replacement value coverage from point of collection to final delivery.
We coordinate international shipments via trusted fine art freight partners, managing all customs documentation, CITES permits where applicable, and import/export declarations. We ship to and from India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond.
For works of exceptional value or fragility, our white-glove service provides hand-carry or accompanied courier delivery, with installation at the destination by a trained art handler. Available for domestic and select international routes.
We prepare all necessary export and import documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of authenticity, provenance records, and condition reports. Our team is experienced in navigating the regulatory requirements of multiple jurisdictions.
A full photographic condition report is prepared before packing and upon delivery, providing a clear record of the work's state at each stage of transit. This documentation forms part of the permanent conservation record for each piece.
How It Works
Contact us with details of the work — dimensions, medium, current location, and destination. We will assess the most appropriate packing method, freight route, and insurance requirements, and provide a detailed quotation.
Prior to packing, a conservator conducts a full condition survey of the work, documenting its state under normal and raking light. Any areas of fragility are noted and addressed before transit.
The work is packed in our studio using museum-grade materials. Crates are constructed to ISPM-15 standards for international shipments. All packing is documented photographically.
We coordinate collection from your location and hand the work to our vetted fine art freight partner. Real-time tracking is provided throughout the journey.
On arrival, the work is unpacked by a trained art handler. A delivery condition report is prepared and compared against the pre-shipment survey. Any discrepancies are documented and reported immediately.
Common Questions
Yes. We regularly ship to and from India, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. We manage all customs documentation and can advise on import duties and restrictions for specific destinations.
All works are covered under a specialist fine art transit policy for their full declared value. We work with insurers experienced in fine art to ensure appropriate coverage. Proof of insurance is provided with every shipment.
In most cases, yes — subject to the stability of the work at the time of shipment. Our conservators will assess the work's condition and advise on whether transit is appropriate, and if so, what additional stabilisation may be required before packing.
We recommend allowing a minimum of two weeks for domestic shipments and four to six weeks for international freight, to allow time for condition surveys, crate construction, documentation, and freight booking. Urgent arrangements can sometimes be accommodated — please contact us to discuss.
Yes. Works can be held in our climate-controlled studio storage facility between collection and onward shipment, or while awaiting conservation treatment. Storage is available on a short- or long-term basis.
